gpac is partnered with a well-established Construction company. They are searching for a Structural Steel Estimator. Our client company manufactures and installs structural steel for the commercial construction industry. Due to continued growth our client company needs to hire a Structural Steel Estimator that has over 10 years of experience, with working experience with Tekla EPM software and structural steel fabrication and erection.
Qualifications for Structural Steel Estimator:
- 5+ years of experience in the structural steel industry
- Experienced in structural steel fabrication and erection
- Project Experience on Heavy Steel Construction +5,000 Tons
- Knowledge of current AISC structural codes and standards
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Ability to calculate costs and prepare estimates
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities for Structural Steel Estimator:
- Prepare and review estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate and communicate with team members
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Manage and monitor project budgets and schedules
- Monitor and review changes in project scope
- Ensure all materials, labor and equipment costs are accurately included in estimates
- Prepare accurate material take offs
- Assist in developing and implementing cost-effective strategies
Estimator Job Functions
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and subcontractors
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between estimates and actual cost
- Monitor progress of projects and recommend changes to ensure timelines and budgets are met
- Produce estimates, bids, and proposals for projects
- Analyze materials, labor and equipment costs for accuracy and completeness
Structural Steel Estimator Skills:
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, and erection process
- Proficient in Tekla EPM software and relevant software
- Knowledge of current structural steel codes and standards
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Compensation/Benefits for Structural Steel Estimator:
- $100,000 - $140,000 base salary (DOE)
