Maverick Search Partners is collaborating with IMS Legal Strategies to find a talented Revenue Operations Senior Manager, tasked with driving significant growth and efficiency.

The Tax Associate will contribute to various tax functions. You will assist with tax compliance, reporting, and research related to our business operations. This role offers valuable exposure to direct and indirect taxation, multi-state tax matters, audits, and process improvement.

This is an ideal role for an individual that has worked with privately held companies, or coming from a smaller CPA firm and is looking for a better work life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local direct and indirect tax filings.
• Manage annual 1099 preparation and distribution.
• Support tax compliance for multi-state operations.
• Document and maintain tax-related standard operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing tax provisions and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and Tax Accounting.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants and auditors.
• Prepare and organize tax work papers and documentation for audits and tax planning.
• Facilitate sales tax, use tax, and other business tax filings and state registrations.
• Analyze tax data and ensure accuracy of internal tax records.
• Stay informed on relevant tax laws and regulations and assist with implementation.
• Collaborate with internal finance, legal, and accounting teams on tax matters.
• Assist with tax due diligence for M&A activities.
• Handle additional projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3+ years of tax compliance experience.
• Exposure to multiple business tax types preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and accounting software (Intacct a plus).
• Strong understanding of sales and gross receipts tax regulations, nexus, and experience with tax software (e.g., Avalara, Track1099).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• CPA or progress towards CPA eligibility is a plus.
• Familiarity with the litigation support industry is a plus.
• Experience with Business Insurance is a plus.
