Job Description

Jennie Joiner with the Forum Group PNW is in search of a Manager of Sales and Marketing to support our agriculture client’s sales team in Denver, Colorado. The Manager of Sales and Marketing is a dynamic and experienced leader responsible for driving the company’s sales efforts. This role involves crafting and executing effective sales strategies in collaboration with the General Manager, overseeing a team of five sales professionals, and directing marketing efforts in support of the sales effort. Central to the role is driving growth and expanding market share through an understanding of customer needs, building and maintaining an effective sales team, developing new sales and product directions to grow company position in the marketplace. 40% travel will be required to maintain possible own accounts and support sales efforts. Active participation at trade shows is anticipated. This is a 100% in office position as it is a very hands-on role supporting the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve business objectives and expand market share.

• Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, trends and competitive dynamics.

• Use data analytics and research to make informed decisions about product offerings.

• Manage, mentor and motivate sales and marketing professionals to achieve sales targets.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

• Hone the existing practices and knowledge while leading an evolution towards modernization and innovation.

• Manage the recruitment, onboarding and development of new sales team members.

• Oversee the process from lead generation to closing deals and post-sales support.

• Set sales targets, monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure sales targets are exceeded.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders.

• Recognize where marketing campaigns are needed, and collaborate with marketing resources to develop outreach programs including digital marketing, trade shows, advertising and promotions. Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing channels.

• Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction by understanding and addressing customer needs and concerns.

• Work closely with the production and procurement team to ensure product availability.

• Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.

• Provide regular reports on sales performance and use data driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize sales and marketing strategies.

• Participate as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy and decision making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a sales and marketing management role, preferably in seeds or agriculture.

• Proven leadership in managing teams and participating in and driving sales growth.

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in CRM and relevant other software tools.
