Position Summary

The Facilities Management Consultant will provide thought leadership and operational support in the planning, ideation, design, and execution phases of our Federal Client's Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) Program at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM). This role leverages management consulting support using a thorough understanding of OFAM's strategy, vision, priorities, and mission requirements, and the ability to articulate them to internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have a background in facilities project or program management, organizational consulting, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development. Success in this role will be predicated on working closely with key OFAM stakeholders to uncover their current and emerging FCA needs, analyze processes, identify areas for improvement and increased efficiencies, and implement innovative, effective solutions that meet their needs. S/he should be comfortable conducting analysis, offering strategic recommendations, and supporting project management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership through continuous and effective collaboration
  • Develop written deliverables for Client according to their specifications that include but are not limited to: briefing decks, project plans, project schedules, program budget, strategic plans, org charts, standard operating procedures, and process workflow diagrams. Institutionalize all products amongst the FCA community
  • Develop and maintain robust Client engagement by establishing key stakeholder relationships across OFAM. Uncover Client's current and emerging needs and collaborate with them to gather and analyze feedback, better understand their requirements, and ensure that the FCA Program activities align to their strategic objectives
  • Act as a liaison between various internal departments and external partners (e.g. GSA PBS, OFO, USBP, Congress) to ensure effective execution and ensure all deliverables are aligned with OFAM's key priorities
  • Continuously identify improvement opportunities related to all existing FCA-related processes and sub-processes. Present well-founded recommendations, accompanied by thorough analysis, to Client and obtain buy-in for improvement plans, strategies and new end state deliverables
  • Demonstrate operational diligence to ensure issues and risks are communicated clearly
  • Monitor and report on the status of deliverables and provide regular updates as required
  • Proactively monitor the health of the entire FCA process and provide periodic status reporting to Senior Leadership. Continually analyze effectiveness of OFAM's FCA approach and recommend innovative changes that improve operational efficiency

Qualifications

Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field
  • Five (5) + years of relevant experience in management consulting, stakeholder engagement, managing or leading initiatives and/or projects, organizational management, with a strong emphasis on individual contributions and results
  • Familiarity with federal facility PMO's through general management consulting
  • Ability to travel as required by project demands
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex and deliverables on time, within budget, and with high quality
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, identify emerging priorities, manage competing priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines while adapting to changing situations and demands
  • Ability to monitor, analyze and advance multiple client engagements simultaneously while tracking dependencies and mitigating risks
  • Working knowledge of TRIRIGA

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range : $90-120k
