We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards. You will lead the development and enforcement of safety protocols, conduct training, and carry out audits to foster a safe and compliant working environment. Your expertise will play a key role in minimizing risks and protecting the health and well-being of all employees.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in line with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; identify potential hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
Design and deliver employee training programs on workplace safety, emergency response, CPR, first aid, and occupational health.
Prepare and maintain detailed reports on incidents, compliance status, audits, and safety statistics; analyze data to detect trends and propose improvements.
Partner with management to promote a proactive safety culture across all departments.
Manage workers’ compensation claims, ensuring effective communication with medical providers and insurance carriers.
Conduct thorough root cause analyses following incidents and implement preventative measures.
Monitor and stay up to date with changes in EHS legislation, ensuring timely updates to company policies and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in an EHS role, with in-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies.
Certification in CPR/First Aid required; additional EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP) are a plus.
Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of workers' compensation laws and environmental regulations.
Demonstrated ability to perform risk assessments and root cause analyses effectively.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
