Job Purpose:

Our Corporate Communications Specialist will play a key role in driving clear, engaging, and strategic communications across Veritiv. The person in this role will oversee and manage an integrated communications calendar to ensure the strategic placement of key messages across multiple vehicles to reach targeted audiences. The Specialist will develop and implement communications strategies and manage communications vehicles to drive awareness and engagement around company strategy, values and culture with internal and external audiences through multiple communications vehicles and tactics.

Additionally, the Corporate Communications Specialist will oversee homepage messaging and key corporate content areas on the intranet. The ideal candidate also will serve as a writer/content creator responsible for sourcing, writing, editing, and publishing informative and engaging content across all of Veritiv’s internal and external communications channels. The Specialist will be an enthusiastic learner, able to articulate a strategic point-of-view on assignments, and provide communications strategy and implementation support to Veritiv’s Corporate Communications team.

Job Responsibilities:

● Enterprise-Wide Editorial Calendar & Planning: Maintain and manage the company-wide communications editorial calendar on an online platform, working proactively with stakeholders to plan and place key stories and campaigns to ensure a consistent messaging flow across channels and audiences.
● Intranet Homepage Messaging: Manage homepage messaging, story rotation, and key corporate content on the intranet while maintaining site-wide guidelines and best practices.
● Employee Communications: Develop and implement internal communications strategies, craft engaging content, facilitate employee engagement, and manage communication channels.
● Content Development & Copywriting: Write and edit engaging, concise and effective communications content for all audiences and channels, including email communications, web and social content, and video scripts.
● Support team’s efforts to develop and implement annual recognition campaigns (i.e. Driver Appreciation Week, Customer Service Week, Warehouse Worker Week, Employee Appreciation Day).
● Manage and triage incoming requests through Communications Project Initiation Request Form.
● Facilitate corporate wide translation services for all internal and external communications and serve as liaison with external translations vendor.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Understanding of internal and external communications strategy, as well as social and digital.

● Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with internal Veritiv stakeholders and external.

● Highly organized and strong project management skills.

● Proven ability to self-direct and take initiative.

● Some knowledge of or experience with graphic design and Cloud-based platforms.

Work Experience:

● 3-5 years of related job experience. ● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. ● Ability to work in a team environment. ● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. ● Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven. ● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. ● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree Preferred - Communications Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric
