Camp Curiosity is located on a 50+ acre farm in Doylestown, PA. We offer programs for campers aged Preschool - Kindergarten in our younger camp programs and Grade 1 - 6 in our older camp programs. Camp Curiosity is home of Curiosity Academy, Curiosity Shoppe, Toddler Center, & Doylestown Pickleball.

Camp Curiosity offers a fun spin on the traditional camp experience that allows campers to engage in a variety of activities focused on our four core areas: DISCOVER, EXPLORE, INVENT, and CREATE.

Do you love working with children? Are you looking for a seasonal summer job that is fun and fulfilling? Camp Curiosity is looking for energetic and team-oriented Camp Specialists to join our team for the 2025 season. 

The role of the Camp Specialists is to provide a fun, safe, and memorable experience for the campers. The Camp Specialists will help plan, organize, and facilitate daily activities in their specialty area. 

Camp Specialist - Nature / Outdoor Specialist 

Hours: Monday- Friday 7:45am-5:15pm; Shifts determined upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate small and large group activities in the specialty area daily. 
  • Direct supervision of children ranging in ages 2-6 in our Younger Camp and ages 6-13 in our Older Camp program. All groups are divided by age with appropriate ratios. 
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean, sanitized, organized, and free of litter.
  • Help groups move between activities based on his/her group's assigned weekly schedule. 
  • Work together with camp leadership and co-counselors to engage campers and maintain a positive, fun environment.
  • Actively participate in all camp activities, including special events/guests. 
  • Assist camp leadership with activity planning, preparation, and facilitation.
  • Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to camp leadership.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas, including but not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
  • Help guide Junior Camp Counselors to have a deeper understanding of leadership and counseling skills.
  • Be flexible and fill in where needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 yrs old
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years experience working with children and in the specialty area, camp experience preferred. 
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks with independence, motivation and responsibility. 
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. 
  • Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certifications and/or Lifeguard/WSI Certifications at time of hire or able to obtain one month before session start date. (Camp Curiosity will be hosting certification).
  • Must be able to obtain Background Clearances, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearances, and Mandated Reporter Training (will change with regulations).

Additional Information



Camp Curiosity will be hosting a CPR and Lifeguard Certification class in June 2025, dates TBD.
